Celina Cereceres Named to the Board of Childhood Education International (CE International)

Celina Cereceres, Whitley Penn Public Sector Audit Partner, has been named to the Board of Directors at Childhood Education International (CE International).

Childhood Education International has been committed to ensuring children’s access to quality education worldwide since 1892. Through innovative programs and projects, they support pre-primary to primary school-age children, enabling them to learn, grow, and develop optimally. Their collaborative approach involves working closely with teachers, education leaders, families, community leaders, health professionals, government agencies, the private sector, and civil society organizations.

Cereceres has more than 23 years of experience with a focus on overseeing audit and other attestation engagements across various sectors, including school districts, universities, colleges, large government entities, and non-profit organizations. She has extensive knowledge with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) requirements under the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and the State of Texas Uniform Grant Management Standards. Cereceres’ accomplished earning the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) Single Audit Advanced Certificate and the Certified Fraud Examiner designation.

Beyond Cereceres’ professional achievements, she actively contributes to several professional associations and committees. She is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TXCPA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) Accounting/Finance Research Committee, Texas Education Agency/TASBO Advisory Committee, TXCPA School District Conference Planning Committee, TXCPA Accounting Education Foundation Board Member, and now serves as a member on the Board of Childhood Education International (CE International).

Cereceres received a B.B.A. in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Texas El-Paso.
