Guadalupe Garcia Named to Alief ISD Education Foundation Board of Directors

Guadalupe “Lupe” Garcia, Whitley Penn Public Sector Audit Partner, has been named to the Board of Directors at the Alief Independent School District Education Foundation.
The Alief Independent School District Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization (IRS designation 501(c)3) that supports Alief Independent School District’s mission.
“We extend our congratulations to Lupe for being named to the Alief ISD Education Foundation Board of Directors,” stated Matthew Reiter, Whitley Penn Partner-in-Charge of Audit. “Lupe’s extensive experience in the public sector industry and his dedication to education will significantly enhance this organization and contribute to their mission.”
Garcia is a Certified Public Accountant with more than 17 years of experience providing audit services to various governmental entities, including school districts, cities, counties, universities, community colleges and other special-purpose governments. He is responsible for all aspects of the assurance process including planning, internal control evaluation, risk assessment, fieldwork, and report issuance and engagement closure.
Garcia is a Member of GFOA Special Review Committee, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society and Houston Chapter of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Association of School Business Officials and Government Finance Officers Association of Texas
Garcia received his B.B.A in Finance from the University of Houston and earned the AICPA’s Advanced Single Audit Certificate.
